The Modern Science of Detoxicology

Hello and welcome to our very first Blog! I’m Kaz Bradley and I’m part of the team here at detoxME who will be regularly writing for you. We’re dedicated to providing you with the best information, products and best health possible, whether it’s for you personally or your client base.

Are you sick of all the hype about detoxing? Confused about all the different variations available in the market, and wondering if detoxing is even necessary?

Detox has become such a buzz word over the last couple of years. I know I’ve personally tried a multitude of Detox programs – both over the counter and practitioner supplied. Some were better than others and some were easier to administer and gauge the results – some were an absolute waste of time and money. Very few Detox protocols have the pedigree to address the safe removal of heavy metals and environmental toxins.

How do we know if we need a Detox program?

If we are unwell, overweight or just know that we are not performing to our peak, then there is a good chance that we are carrying a higher toxic burden than our body can deal with. Many current diseases are believed to have an underlying cause linked to environmental toxins and chemical exposure.

We are born into a physical body generally in pristine condition – if we’re lucky! I say lucky, because testing on the toxic burden found in the placental blood of a group of new born babies in North America showed 287 different toxins present. One of these toxins was DDT which was banned in America in 1972 yet it still showed up in the baby’s blood thanks to a poisoned environment! Of the 287 chemicals we know that 180 cause cancer in humans or animals, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests. This program was spearheaded by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) in collaboration with Commonweal in July 14, 2005

Our bodies are a dynamic machine designed to Detox regularly but because of our current global conditions where we are ingesting higher and higher amounts of environmental toxins and chemicals on a day to day basis, our bodies can’t cope. The term toxic overload represents this. We also may have been subject to specific heavy metals and chemical poisoning in our work or living environments through direct contact or inhalation eg: dentists – mercury , farmers – pesticides and herbicides, miners – heavy metals, carpenters – glues , cleaners/mothers – chemical agents, firemen – noxious fumes, children – plastic drinking bottles

The proliferation of illness and the increase in cancer and neurological diseases even in children, is alarming parents and Health Care Practitioners around the world. We have to acknowledge that we may never recover the pristine world that we once had. Our future seems destined to always involve ingesting toxins whether through our air, food, water or a myriad of other means. The only resolution is to find a way to safely and effectively remove those toxins faster than they are accumulating, before illness and disease is manifested. Once total detoxification is achieved, our body is better able to deal with future exposure.

Sherry Rogers writes at the beginning of her book -Detoxify or Die "If you are serious about healing, then brace yourself for a crash course in curing whatever ails you. I'll take you step-by-step through the most important paradigm shift of your life…the secret is in getting your body so chemically unloaded and nutrient primed, that it heals itself."

So what should we look for in a Detox program?

Accountability – any serious Detox program should have measurable results ie: pathology testing available.

Adaptability – a Detox program needs to be able to meet the specific needs of the individual and be adjusted according to those needs ie: young, old or critically impaired

Availability – a serious Detox program will be delivered via a practitioner or have an avenue of support available.

Administer ability – being human, if something is too hard to administer – we give up! There must be ease of use.

Affordability - it shouldn’t cost the earth to be well, but when it really works and you feel the difference, it’s worth every cent! You have to personally judge what price you put on your health.

Credibility- a serious Detox will have good science to back it up. Always check on the most up to date research available for total detoxification.

The Modern Science of Detoxicology is a relatively new field brought about by a universal need to discover what is causing the plethora of illnesses in this world today. Why cancer, heart disease, diabetes, ADHD and a myriad of other diseases and disorders are rife in this century in young and old.

Exposure and severity varies person to person, but even a part lifetime of accumulated bio toxins, heavy metals, pesticides, PCBs, organochlorides and dioxins can and do cause havoc on the bodies nervous, immune, hormonal and digestive systems. The elimination of any toxic burden should be our highest priority, and must be done carefully and thoroughly to ensure a positive outcome.

Acknowledged pioneers in the Modern Science of Detoxicology are Dr Dietrich Klinghardt MD,ND,PhD, Dr Rita Ellithorpe MD, Sherry Rogers MD and Boyd Haley PhD who have all contributed to the development of serious protocols to deal with the issue of toxicity. Their research and development has spanned over 30 years and is only now becoming available to the general populace.

Mark Green, Founder of detoxME and creator of The Modern Science of Detoxicology Training states- “In a world where answers seem scarce, we now have total detoxification available for everyone. As the most toxic and poisoned generation of all time, we urgently need the tools and skills to carefully and thoroughly lower and remove our individual toxic burdens. It's time to reclaim our good health!
